Wrap up warm and enjoy this gorgeous, wintry 15 km walk along the English Coast from Ramsgate to Margate.
Meeting at Ramsgate Station at 10:30 am sharp, we’ll head down to the harbour, stopping en route at Staple Stores to grab fuel for our morning before heading out along the England Coast Path. Before too long, we’ll reach the quintessentially picturesque seaside town of Broadstairs, where we can make another pit stop for lunch—perhaps at the local chippy if carbs are in order!
With sweeping views out to sea and plenty of amenities along the way, we can truly relax into this lovely winter stomp. Then, once we reach vibrant Margate, we can enjoy a cosy drink before heading homeward.
For those who don’t fancy the whole stretch, there’s the option to finish at Broadstairs (roughly 5 miles in) for train and bus services.
This is an easy hike, which is very flat after an initial ascent up the steps at Ramsgate. Come prepared with lunch (unless you’re grabbing something at Broadstairs), snacks and at least two litres of water.

Warm layers and a hat
Waterproofs if it’s raining
Comfy trainers if it’s dry, waterproof footwear if it’s wet
