It’s time for our next Moved Summer Friday — an evening social that gets us outdoors, immersed in nature and in community with each other. This time, we’ll celebrate these long, light-filled evenings with a beautiful walk along one of my favourite trails in Kent: the Crab and Winkle Way. We’ll then end with a drink — alc or non-alc — on Whitstable’s vibrant seafront.
Meeting at Canterbury West train station, we’ll make our way through the outskirts of town before the trail takes a distinctly bucolic twist, heading on through fields and orchards to the fringes of Clowes Wood.
Here, we’ll stop for a picnic dinner among the pines before continuing on to the coast. Once there, we’ll gather at the lovely Sea Farmer’s Dive taproom for a celebratory drink (not included, alcohol-free available) before we head home.
By the time winter rolls around again, we’ll be pining for these balmy evenings. So let’s get out and make the most of them, ladies!

WHAT TO WEAR
As this is a summer evening hike, it should be mild. But it’s best to be prepared. So, bring a warm layer, be ready for wet weather, and wear comfy boots or trainers.
