It’s been a while since I’ve hit my favourite Canterbury trail—the Crab & Winkle Way—that winds its way through field and forest before arriving at Whitstable’s pebbled shore. And I’m feeling nostalgic. So, I’ve added a new date in late September to do just that!
Join me for a gentle amble between the Cathedral City and my favourite English seaside town (after Folkestone, of course!), which can be as short as 12 km or, if we’re feeling energetic, could extend by another 5 km or so along the coast. We’ll meet at The Goods Shed at 11 am, grab ourselves a coffee and a pastry for the journey, then head out of the city and into the countryside. If the weather’s good, we can stop for a picnic lunch in Clowes Wood along the way. If not, we can eat as we hike!
This walk is relatively straightforward and follows mostly flat, easy terrain. But we won’t come across any amenities until we reach Whitstable. So, come prepared with lunch, snacks and at least two litres of water for the day.
WHAT TO WEAR:

It’s been an AGE since I’ve walked my favourite Canterbury trail—the Crab & Winkle Way. So, I’ve decided to throw in another date this month (a bit last-minute), and take you lovely lot on a beautiful, end-of-summer walk to Whitstable.
