Embrace the long summer nights with a balmy evening walk along the coast — from Herne Bay to Whitstable — ending with a private sundown sauna overlooking the beach.
Meeting at Herne Bay train station, we’ll make our way through town before hitting the coast and beginning our hike. The route follows the Saxon Shore Way roughly 9 km along the shoreline and into the quintessential seaside town of Whitstable, stopping off for a picnic dinner en route. Once there, we’ll indulge in a private hour-long sauna — reserved exclusively for Moved — overlooking the rolling waves, with the option to take a cold plunge or dip in the sea, too!
If another Friday night in the pub sounds a bit bland, this is the summer social for you!
LIMITED SPACES - The sauna can only accommodate eleven bookings. So grab your ticket early to avoid missing out.
WHAT TO EXPECT
5:30 PM - Meet at Herne Bay train station and begin our hike
6:30 PM - Pause for a picnic dinner (not included, so please bring food with you!)
8 PM - Indulge in sauna and cold plunge
9 PM - Finish

WHAT TO WEAR
As this is a summer evening hike, it’s best to bring a warm layer. And be prepared for showers, just in case. Comfy trainers are fine for this hike.
WHAT TO BRING
A swimming costume - changing rooms and showers are available at SSS
Two towels - One small, for sitting on in the sauna, and one (ideally lightweight) for drying afterwards
A bag (plastic or packable tote) to put your wet things in, post-sauna
A litre of water - we can refill in Whitstable
Some picnic snacks
Flip-flops (optional)
There are cold, outdoor showers at Sea Scrub Sauna.
Please note: Tickets are non-refundable. But, with enough notice, we may be able to transfer your ticket to another event.
When signing up to walk with Moved, you accept responsibility for your own health and well-being. If you have any injuries or medical issues, please be confident that you can either complete the walk or make your way to an earlier finish.
